Our Story

The California Llama Rescue (CLR) was founded in 2017 and is located in the foothills of Yosemite National Park in Central California.

Our mission is to find animals in need and provide necessary medical attention and care to animals through our services and hospitality. CLR has opened its gates to be a place where ranch animals can stay and be cared for until they are adopted into a suitable home.

We host a variety of animals on our 164-acre property such as chickens, horses, sheep, alpacas, and llamas. This Rescue originated when President Pam Little went kooky and purchased a llama. She fell in love and took it upon herself to help troubled llamas/alpacas/sheep from all over California. And here we are with multiple breeds, different personalities, and a happy family :)

CLR is a 501(c)3 incorporated in the state of California.
